SUPERTALES

Description

In this new album SUPERTALES, Polylogue reasserts its sensitivity and clarifies its direction, through 10 new tracks with carefully delirious lyrics, grooves that are sometimes dreamlike, sometimes organic, and unsettling encounters that immerse us in a rich and abundant imaginary world. One of the surprises in this opus is the appearance of French on the track "Narcisse," a result of their many experiments and their desire to claim roots in the French scene, despite their clearly displayed influences in "Thug Life" or "Nice Blue Suits," or even in the feature with Local Blac, a rapper from Los Angeles. Avowed heirs of Hiatus Kaiyote and Massive Attack, closely flirting with Tank and The Bangas, the band here pushes the second-degree dial in certain danceable and organic tracks, contrasting with others characterized by their electric reverie. Neo-soul, Afrobeat, hip hop, and electro intermingle. Polylogue demonstrates what contemporary jazz represents today: the blending of genres, the central influence of African-American culture, and a pronounced taste for synthetic sounds.
