In this new album SUPERTALES, Polylogue reaffirms its sensitivity and clarifies its direction through 10 new tracks with carefully delirious lyrics, grooves that are sometimes dreamlike and sometimes organic, and troubling encounters that immerse us in a rich and abundant imagination. One of the surprises of this opus is the appearance of French on the track Narcisse, a result of their numerous experiments and their desire to claim their place in the French scene despite their clearly displayed influences in Thug Life or Nice Blue Suits, as well as in the collaboration with Local Blac, a rapper from Los Angeles. As acknowledged heirs of Hiatus Kaiyote and Massive Attack, and closely flirting with Tank and The Bangas, the group here turns up the dial on irony in some danceable and organic tracks, contrasting with others characterized by electric daydreaming. Neo-soul, afrobeat, hip hop, and electro blend together. Polylogue reflects what contemporary jazz represents today: the mixing of genres, the central influence of African-American culture, and a strong taste for synthetic sounds.
