Simple Music
Description
Giya Kancheli, a Georgian composer, wrote Simple Music and revisited motifs from his numerous pieces for film and theater. After experimenting with serialism, Valentin Silvestrov composed Kitsch Music, oscillating between tonality and modality, which helped make his work "the ultimate epilogue of romanticism." A trajectory that Arvo Pärt also experienced, with Für Alina marking a turning point in the Estonian composer's life, definitively leaving his indelible mark on music history: minimalism, spirituality inspired by Orthodox worship, contemplation, and a return to essentials. Like Arvo Pärt leaving Tallinn in 1980 to escape censorship, Silvestrov, a native and resident of Kyiv, went into exile in 2022. That year, Polina Osetinkaya conceived this program and brought these three composers together, highlighting the creative and spiritual freedom that binds them.Buy Simple Music at the best price
