Ping Machine is the energy of fifteen musicians linked in a single breath, serving an original repertoire made up of compositions written and orchestrated by guitarist Fred Maurin. With an average age of thirty, this young orchestra - exemplary of the richness of the new jazz scene in France - asserts its artistic goals with determination and maturity: a constant concern for the work of sound material, the diversity of forms and themes, and especially a particular attention to collective listening and the joy of playing. A music dense in its message, with an underlying modernity always subtly present, but which constantly maintains great flexibility, a great fluidity for the listener, allowing them to perceive through the apparent complexity of the sound material what exists behind the sound. A complete and passionate music, committed and enjoyable, which positions this French big band among the most exciting of its generation. Le Petit faucheux invited Ping Machine to its stage in January 2011. A meeting between an orchestra and a venue that left a lasting impression on everyone! The idea of recording their 4th album within the walls of Le Petit faucheux was therefore decided and took place on March 22 & 23, 2013, Ping Machine thus took the gamble of live music: raw, passionate, and uncompromising! At the head of this large ensemble of 15 musicians, Frédéric Maurin asserts his taste for risk and unveils on stage new polished, demanding compositions, all full of twists and nuances.
