FRENCH ALBUM

Description

Pierre Sibille's new album is his first entirely in French. The artist's maturity and undoubtedly his travels to New York have led the French bluesman, until now rooted in Anglo-Saxon lyrics, to reconsider his message. Grandson of a farmer living in permanent contact with nature, this album's theme is "Blues of the Earth." The Blues was born from human suffering; it is the musical current par excellence for expressing joys, sorrows, and moods. Pierre loved it, studied it, sang it in French clubs and festivals, even pushing open the doors of the Sugar Bar in New York, Ashford & Simpson's club, and becoming the only Frenchman to have been engaged there for eight years in this authentic club, a true temple of Black American music. … "from my friend Seydou to my dear mother, from this album envisioned since my meeting with Frédéric Faye to my own wife's request to sing an album in French. Here it is, French Album, to celebrate my roots, these blues-related musics that I love so much." Pierre Sibille: vocals – keyboards – harmonica // Dani Mendez: production – arrangements – keyboards – vocals // David Walters: vocals – percussion // Wallace Negao: vocals and cavaquinho // Christophe Monteiro: percussion // Jérôme Buigues: guitar and mix // Philippe Jardin: drums // François Gomez: bass // Emile Mélenchon: guitar // Laurent Menier: guitar // Eric Sauviat: guitar // Gabriel Equerre: guitar // Jo Labita: accordion // Sebastien Lhermitte: percussion // David Lewis: flugelhorn // William Galison: harmonica // Sébastien Markezana: bass
