For his first album as an exclusive Erato artist, French clarinetist Pierre Génisson focuses on the most inspired champion of his instrument in the 18th century: Mozart. The centerpiece of his program is the composer’s sublime Clarinet Concerto. In addition, Pierre Génisson has recorded clarinet arrangements of excerpts from operas (Cosi fan tutte, La clemenza di Tito) as well as the famous Lacrimosa from Mozart’s Requiem. 1791, the final year. Through the prism of the different voices of his favorite instrument, the clarinet, Mozart offers posterity his musical legacy, where Opera, Concertante and Sacred works echo one another in a mystical unity and infinite renewal.
