Recorded in June 2020, the new event album by countertenor Philippe Jaroussky accompanied by his ensemble Artaserse, takes us to the heart of the most beautiful airs of Italian oratorios from the baroque era. Philippe Jaroussky is an exceptional trailblazer, curious and sensitive to unknown repertoires and other treasures in slumber. This program revolves around Italian and German composers of the 17th century (Vivaldi, Scarlatti, Chelleri, Torri, Caldara, Marcello, Hasse, Handel...), thus offering an unprecedented polyphonic panorama of the European vocal music creation of the time, tailored to his legendary musicality including 5 world premieres. 'La vanità del mondo' takes its name from an oratorio by Pietro Torri and among the other composers are Händel, Scarlatti, Vivaldi, Hasse, Fago, and Caldara.
