Phil Collins had not released an album since "Dance Into The Light" in 1996. In recent years, the former drummer/singer of Genesis (a reunion is in the air…) has not shone for his musical boldness and is keeping a low profile, living in Switzerland, raising his children, and mainly dedicating himself to writing film music (Tarzan). Recorded with Rob Cavallo and James Sanger, the twelve tracks of this new album remain very much in the adult pop spirit of this good guy, whose recent hearing problem in his left ear does not seem to have dampened his enthusiasm.
Aware that his songs will not change the course of history, Phil Collins is nevertheless professional enough to publish them only when they are perfectly polished, and Swing Low And Sweet, You Touch My Heart, or Can’t Stop Loving You (the first to be released as a single) are at least of the caliber of those that filled his most popular records during the 80s.
