The Plains At Gordium (Performed By Talujon)

Description

The unreleased recording by the Talujon percussion ensemble of The Plains at Gordium by composer Petr Kotik, whose pioneering work as the founder and conductor of the S.E.M. Ensemble has been a staunch advocate for the avant-garde since its inception at the Center of the Creative and Performing Arts at the University of New York in Buffalo, from 1970 to the present day. The well-known recordings of the S.E.M. Ensemble (Julius Eastman: Femenine, The Entire Musical Work of Marcel Duchamp, Morton Feldman: For Philip Guston) are easy to find. This is not the case for Petr Kotik's own music. This magnificent recording of a relatively recent work offers a seductive and labyrinthine entry into his musical vision.
