Pete Wylie and the Mighty Wah! will reissue 'Songs of Strength and Heartbreak' for the first time on vinyl. Wylie built a vast body of work (and various line-ups of the Mighty Wah!) throughout the 80s, finding Top 20 success with the singles « Come Back (The Story of the Reds) » and « Sinful », with his biggest hit, « The Story of the Blues (Part One) », reaching number 3 on the UK Singles Chart in 1982. 'Songs of Strength and Heartbreak' was intended to be Wylie's first record for Sony via Columbia, although this never happened, because despite costing a million pounds to record and featuring one of Wylie's most remarkable songs in « Heart As Big As Liverpool », it was shelved upon completion in 1998. It was subsequently released by Castle Communications in 2000, following Wylie's acquisition of the master tapes.
