Paul’s lyrics are the gravitational center of sonic constellations woven from the strings of the guitar and other acoustic instrumentation — including choral elements from the highly acclaimed British vocal ensemble VOCES8 and a beautiful vocal appearance from Edie Brickell. True to the origin of psalms as hymns meant to be sung rather than spoken, Seven Psalms harkens back to the very genesis of folk music: The Psalms of King David. The result is a peaceful and moving musical experience, revealing a host of subtle details with each new listen.
