Concerto pour piano n°24 - concerto pour piano n°25

Description

Paul Badura-Skoda and Mozart, the work of a lifetime This is the seventh volume of the complete collection of Mozart's piano concertos, envisioned by Paul Badura-Skoda for the TransArt label, with the Prague Chamber Orchestra. Concertos No. 24 KV 491 and No. 25 KV 503 complete the magnificent series of one of the great masters of this repertoire today. "These two concertos are the pinnacle of a series of twelve that Mozart composed between 1784 and 1786, at the same time as The Marriage of Figaro. I challenged myself by recording these two masterpieces once again. I did it mainly for the new cadenza of the Concerto in C minor (KV 491) that has matured within me since 2008. It is a later work of Mozart, the Fantasy for a Mechanical Organ (KV 608), that inspired me. It stands out from my previous cadenzas with unusual modulations and thereby, like the Concerto, opens new paths, those of the future." Paul Badura-Skoda
