Crime In Australia follows The Real Work released in 2022, the album that revealed the Australian out-rock duo Party Dozen. It’s the one on which Nick Cave sang; the one on which Billy Woods reworked a track; the one that took them to the United States, Europe, Japan, China, and New Zealand; the one that allowed Party Dozen to partner with the American label Temporary Residence Ltd.; the one that led Bandcamp, Stereogum, Brooklyn Vegan, and a whole series of Australian radio stations to make it their album of the day/week/era; and the one that brought KEXP to invite the band for a live session, and Sub Pop to add them to its famous Singles Club. The Real Work was not Party Dozen's first album, but in many ways, it’s where Party Dozen really began to set everything in motion. Crime In Australia continues to build on that arc and amplifies its ascent with a series of new songs that are both more focused and fiercer than anything they have done so far. And there are no guests on this album.
