Demon Records presents Osmium (Deluxe Edition): the first recordings credited to the funk-rock ensemble Parliament-Funkadelic. Produced by Ruth Copeland, Osmium offers a range of diverse arrangements including gospel, soul, funk, rock, and country, with accompaniments ranging from fuzz electric guitar to chamber music and even bagpipes.
Since its reissue in 1990, Osmium has been distributed numerous times by different labels in America, Europe, and Japan under other titles, including "Rhenium" and "First Thangs." A number of these reissues have included elements that were not on the original album, such as unreleased tracks and singles that were recorded around the same time. This version compiles everything from that period: the Osmium album in its entirety, singles that never appeared on the album, unreleased tracks, demos, and jams.
