In 10 years, Panic At The Disco has been through it all: The Las Vegas-based band made its chart debut with A Fever You Can't Sweat Out in 2004 and since then, its story has had its ups and downs. We remember that two of the main members chose to leave the band because of musical differences, while Spencer Smith announced his permanent departure last April. Death of a Bachelor, the highly anticipated album of this beginning of the year, is above all a rite of passage for Brendon Urie, the only original member still present: Death of a Bachelor will be a tribute album to the crooner era like Frank Sinatra, and Brendon Urie is just as comfortable on punchy tracks like Victorious as on slower songs like Death of a Bachelor (the title track). In truth, he is one of those artists whose voice almost serves as an instrument - Urie does whatever he wants with it, moving from one to the other with disconcerting ease. Paradoxically, Death of a Bachelor is a bright and uplifting album!
