PAMELA is Sam Sprent, an English singer, and Simon Quénéa, a French producer. They met in Nantes and started making music together, somewhere between rock, britpop and dance music. An army of synths, guitars, rhythms that make you want to move: somewhere between LCD Soundsystem, The Cure and Soulwax. After a first EP, LIVE. SHIFT. DREAM., and more than forty concerts, the duo is releasing their first album, Dancing on the Edge. Co-produced with Pierre Cheguillaume, the 12-track album was entirely mixed by him and Simon. The twelve tracks were designed to flow into one another, with transitions that make the record feel like a single journey rather than just a collection of songs. It deals with desire, addiction, grief, fatherhood, those moments when you lose your footing a little. Dancing on the Edge is that feeling of dancing in the middle of chaos, of enjoying the night without thinking too much about tomorrow. Because we never really know what awaits us, we might as well keep moving.
