This second album with an introspective tone is called "Phantômaton" and one will quickly deduce the idea of snapshots, collages, miniature photos. Here, the songs lock themselves in a face-to-face with ghosts. While Palatine has often been compared to Timber Timbre, they are even more associated with James Blake on this new opus. Guitars, bass, and drums hold back, yielding to the new arbitration of modular synths. Often straddling between the two languages, Palatine this time gives more prominence to French over English. Haunted perhaps this "Phantômaton," but incredibly tempting.
