With this new album, Pain Of Salvation returns to its prog metal roots and heavy influences. The arrangements are of course always very polished, the structures and rhythms varied, the instrumental parts delightful, and the tonic aspect of the whole allows for immersion in an ocean of emotions. One of the major vectors of this emotion is undoubtedly the voice of Daniel Gildenlöw, very expressive, and who can be both delicate and fragile at times, and aggressive and tortured at others. Once again, the band has moved towards a new sound. A moment apart, superb and deep.
