A few months before his passing in February, Paco de Lucia made one final return to his roots by paying tribute to the Andalusian musical tradition on the album "Canción Andaluza". While he never stopped modernizing flamenco throughout his career, the guitarist and singer remained faithful to his origins by taking up the repertoire of the Andalusian copla (traditional song) and always said he was inspired by great artists such as Marifé de Triana, Lola Flores, Estrellita Castro, Miguel de Molina, Rocío Jurado, Carlos Cano, Manolo Caracol or Conchita Piquer. On "Canción Andaluza", Paco de Lucia had invited the flamenco singer from Granada Estrella Morente, the flamenco singer Parrita as well as the Venezuelan singer Óscar de León.
