Pablo Heras-Casado makes his debut on the Archiv Produktion label with the vocal and instrumental music associated with Farinelli, the legendary 18th-century castrato, musician to the kings of Spain. Pablo Heras-Casado "one of the most exciting conductors of his generation" (Die Welt), enjoys an exceptionally varied career, encompassing an immense symphonic and lyrical repertoire as well as contemporary avant-garde works. He has also developed a close relationship with a significant number of soloists, orchestras, and operas. He now returns to his original repertoire in a new album bringing together works by baroque composers such as Hasse, Porpora, and Jomelli, through a selection of pieces that were presented by Farinelli in Madrid and Aranjuez. El Maestro Farinelli also contains eight world premiere recordings, as well as arias sung by the famous countertenor Bejun Mehta.
