The American composer and saxophonist Ornette Coleman was one of the founders of free jazz in the 1960s, a term he coined for his album Free Jazz: A Collective Improvisation. His albums Broadway Blues and Lonely Woman became standards and are cited as major works of the early free jazz era. This album was recorded in 1960 by Tom Dowd and produced by Nesuhi Ertegün. The cover reproduces the painting White Light by Jackson Pollock. Limited edition blue vinyl.
