Europa Paris

Description

In a kind of nomadic “work in progress” that will continue as a common thread throughout his tenure at the head of the ONJ, Olivier Benoit offers, with his Europa program, in a series of “city portraits,” a subjective and kaleidoscopic glimpse of the contemporary European musical landscape. For the first stage of this ambitious journey, he naturally chose to look around him and offer us his very personal musical perception of Paris. Like a living photograph of the megacity interpreted by the orchestra’s musicians, who also take part in this singular urban inspiration, the score of this original repertoire reveals its incomparable structure as well as the forces generated by each of its elements — and ultimately allows us to grasp, in its entirety, the secret poetics of Paris.
