Œuvres orchestrales

Description

Unavailable for years, this complete edition of Ravel’s orchestral works, conducted by André Cluytens, remains a classic interpretation of the French composer. The original recording, although stereophonic, suffered from a certain opacity in the high frequencies. More than a simple restoration, we worked to correct these frequencies, which made it possible to subtly open up the sound and give it more depth, reproduce the clarity of the instruments, and make these 1961-1962 recordings perfectly suited to today’s equipment. It is important to note that, in addition to the orchestral recordings, this edition offers a magnificent performance of the Concerto for the Left Hand, performed by Samson François, under the direction of Cluytens.
