Ouvertures

Description

Since their creation, Rossini's Overtures have always been seen as colorful and elegant orchestral works. With their sweet cantilenas, rich harmonies, brilliant orchestrations, and powerful, exhilarating rhythms, these overtures reflect the modernity of Rossini's music while maintaining the freshness and interest of contemporary audiences. The works are performed by the Orchestra del Teatro Comunale di Bologna, which has played a crucial role in the composer's revival over the past thirty years.
