The beginning of the twenty-first century can truly be described as a new golden age of choral music. In order to reflect this trend and to highlight contemporary composers, I wanted to create a series of recordings that would juxtapose their inspiration with the masterpieces of the past. For this second installment of our series "Gems of the Renaissance and Today," dedicated to Thomas Tallis, we asked several talented composers to share their musical reflections on the works of this great musician. I hope that this new repertoire, like the original compositions that inspired it, will find its place in the programs of other vocal ensembles to delight audiences today and tomorrow.
