Marked by a dual affiliation with the Reformed community and the royal court, composer Claude Lejeune brings together in his work Huguenot polyphonic psalms in French and Catholic repertoires in Latin. These are placed on equal footing in this recording produced by Olivier Schneebeli and his Pages et Chantres of the Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles. Following the success of the Rouge, Jaune, Bleue, Rose, and Blanche collections (a total of 60 reissues) that have brought the gems of the baroque catalogs of the in-house labels back into the spotlight, here are 14 new titles that allow us to rediscover other treasures, whether baroque or from an earlier or later period. Like the last series, this 6th batch also opens up to classical repertoire (Mozart by Ensemble 415 and Chiara Banchini) or Renaissance (Févin by Doulce Mémoire and Denis Raisin Dadre); recordings that are an integral part of Alpha's identity and history. Fourteen reissues performed by the best musicians in the genre, most of whom have received one or more awards upon their release. Real booklets accompany the discs, featuring a presentation text in three languages (French, English, German). Photographers from all backgrounds illustrate the covers of the series, with this time the common thread being the color green, a symbol of nature, fertility… and hope!
