Inner Excursions, the new recording dedicated to the music of Quebec composer Jimmie LeBlanc, performed by the Paramirabo ensemble under the direction of Jean-Michaël Lavoie, featuring mezzo-soprano Marie-Annick Béliveau. This ambitious project offers a striking dive into the tensions between body, language, and perception, at the intersection of contemporary musical creation and philosophical reflection. Through four major works, Jimmie LeBlanc explores the multiple facets of human experience. His writing, marked by a textural and sensory approach, questions our relationship to the world through themes such as the multiplicity of identity, the materiality of sound, and the upheavals of our time. Inspired as much by literature as by contemporary thought, the composer invokes a rich network of references, ranging from commedia dell'arte to reflections on language and perception.
