S H E L T E R{S} is the 5th album by this unconventional musician, after "When Ghosts Were Young," "Expanded Places," and "The World Begins Today," which received significant attention from the press in France and abroad (several times FFFF Télérama; Top 20 of the year from Les Inrocks in the World, Jazz, Chanson category; Coup de coeur Libération; Selection du Monde; Coup de coeur France Musique, album of the week FIP;..).
True to his deep love for lyricism and melody, Olivier takes us close to the heart, close to humanity, but also to that nature we sometimes no longer know how to listen to and respect. Created over more than five years, it is an album that has been long matured, thought out, and worked on. Taking the time to build each moment, without preconceived ideas, allowing oneself to be guided by the music, by instinct more than by intellect. Like a counterpoint to our society that exalts speed and overproduction.
S H E L T E R{S} is a refuge at the opposite of a closed or frozen environment. It is music of the road and of space, a talisman that we carry with us. Learning to rid ourselves of the superfluous, setting aside what is not essential in our lives, stepping away from overly bright lights and being close to that small inner flame that lights each person's path.
