Chal ha Dichal – sound travel diary on the Breton coast With his first album "Bat Karé," released in February 2021, Guillaume Chartin aka Ojûn offered us a sound travel diary about his childhood island, the island of Réunion.
Spotted by several newspapers, Ojûn decided to pick up his microphones to propose a sequel to his universe. Still produced by the Parisian label 18heures48, this second album is named "Chal Ha Dichal – sound travel diary on the Breton coast" in reference to the ebb and flow of the tide in this region where Ojûn lives today.
With this second album, Ojûn gives a new color to his artistic proposal. After three years of research and recordings along the coast, he unveils an album of folktronica where the sound of his guitars, clarinets, and synthesizers intertwine to offer an intimate and universal narrative nourished by the encounters made on the road. This new creation thus offers a poetic dive into the Breton coast where travel does not imply a distant displacement but a movement engaging our relationship with the world. With this album, Ojûn aims to track the subtle in order to uncover a poetry of the moment where contemplation would be the keystone of the creative process. Observe, exchange the passing time, then get lost again to get lost again.
This is what Chal ha dichal is, and this is therefore the key to this album: travel not as a goal, but as a state. A cycle is completed, a loop closes, another opens, a luminous transformation has taken place.
