Odezenne is back with "Au Baccara," a new piece of a puzzle that has been assembling album after album for ten years. The first single, "Nucléaire," released two months ago, already boasts a million streams. After "Dolziger St. 2" in 2015 and the success of its "on-demand" tours, the band continues to develop its universe. With Édouard Nardon still at the helm of artistic direction and Bertrand Fresel mixing, Odezenne put its spontaneity to the test with a long-term studio work, notably at the legendary Konk studio in London, where the band decided to record its album on tape, a clash of eras that seals the album's sound. Impressionistic formulas stand alongside bittersweet aphorisms, melancholic layers blend with powerful yet subtle beats – and everything elegantly contributes to creating a new LP where it's good to get lost. If Odezenne evolves, it is to better embrace paradoxes and put everything back into play; living "Au Baccara" is now the formula. Throughout the tracks, Odezenne asserts that losing is just a state of mind; the important thing is to move forward and enjoy the journey. Eleven tracks make up this new album, once again imposing its unique style. Wikipedia labels them "alternative music," and indeed, Odezenne joyfully explores the Bermuda Triangle of contemporary song, between the verve of everyday life, the sculpted emotion of lyricists, and the danceable rhythms of our electronic age. Serene artisans of this eclecticism, Odezenne continues its creative adventure without inhibition.
