Novo Quartet, one of the most striking quartets of its generation!NOVO Quartet, like "new," a name that reflects the curiosity and taste for discovery that has already led the four musicians, trained under Tim Frederiksen, to the podiums of the Geneva and Carl Nielsen competitions. Their first album, Track 1, is a series of firsts: Shostakovich's String Quartet No. 8, the very first piece they tackled together; HJERTEBLAD (literally "heart leaf," the first leaf of the seed) by Matias Vestergaard, with which they discovered contemporary repertoire; and Carl Nielsen's first quartet, the Danish muse, the starting point for a future complete cycle. 'Track 1' is thus a story of beginnings: above all that of the NOVO, who immediately establish themselves as one of the most striking ensembles of their generation.
