Nirek Mokar is a young Parisian of 20 years who grew up in the 17th arrondissement. It was by having the chance to listen to and see all the great specialists of Boogie-Woogie play at the "Paris Boogie Speakeasy," where his father worked when he was very young, that he fell in love with the Boogie Woogie piano.
Only 10 years ago, following the advice of his elders, he began to teach himself to play on the piano of the '' Paris Boogie Speakeasy '' because he didn't have a piano at home!
Passionate about this music and also about Blues, Swing, and Rock'n'roll, he dedicates himself to it whenever he can. Showing remarkable maturity and exceptional swing, he quickly becomes the favorite of Boogie enthusiasts all over Paris and beyond.
Nirek regularly plays with his Boogie Messengers in the famous jazz club, the Caveau de la Huchette, in Paris. He has already been invited to play at numerous festivals in France, as well as abroad. He had the chance to open for the late Lucky Peterson. He plays with singer Eddie Gazel in the group '' The One Eyed Cats '', and collaborates from time to time with singer Emilie Hedou and the famous American saxophonist and entertainer, Sax Gordon. Nirek has recently started teaching for Master Classes or Blues Workshops. He also gives Boogie Woogie, Blues, and Rock'n'Roll piano lessons.
After a very encouraging first CD made in trio in July 2015, he decided to ask the best French specialists of this music to accompany him for the recording of his second CD in July 2016.
He released his third CD with his Boogie Messengers in April 2020! A repertoire that mixes original compositions and covers!
On August 5, 2022, the day of his twentieth birthday, he released his fourth album and new CD, recorded at the South Town Jazz Festival in Soustons, with a new team except for Claude Braud, who appears on all 4 albums of Nirek Mokar.
On drums, Guillaume Nouaux became passionate about the drums at a young age and quickly turned to jazz. He has performed on the biggest stages and jazz festivals in Europe and regularly participates in tours around the world. On stage or in the studio, he has worked with many internationally renowned artists such as: Chuck Berry, Evan Christopher, Uros ''Perry'' Perich... With a discography of over a hundred recordings, several of his albums as a leader have won awards. An essential drummer on classic jazz stages in Europe and author of reference works on jazz drumming, he is now universally recognized by his peers and the press as one of the best specialists in the genre.
Stan Noubard Pacha is THE French blues guitarist! He was voted best French blues guitarist in 1999, 2000, and 2003 by the France Blues trophies. He plays with Benoît Blue Boy and has accompanied legends passing through Europe such as Lazy Lester, Big Bill Morganfield (Son of Muddy Waters)... He had the honor of performing on the main stage of the Montreal jazz festival with Benoît Blue Boy. Stan released an album under his name about ten years ago titled Ready To Go.
On tenor saxophone, Claude Braud has a giant career as a jazzman, having played with Lillian Boutté, Les Gigolos, Megaswing, Blues de Paris, Saxomania... He has a big sound, enormous swing, and limitless kindness. A master of enchanting swing and overflowing energy! He has been swinging with Nirek Mokar for almost 10 years, and he is the pillar of the group. He is 73 years old but has the energy of a 20-year-old.
On double bass, Nicolas Dubouchet started playing the double bass at 13 during the rockabilly revival period, learning the slap technique in various Parisian groups. In 1996, he left the capital for Bordeaux, where he founded his group Charlaz. At the same time, he encountered the world of boogie-blues with, among others, Julien Brunetaud and Anthony Stelmaszack. His passion for slap will lead him to study the style of Willie Dixon, Pops Foster, and pioneers of New Orleans jazz and blues. In 2008, he released an educational DVD on this technique called "Slapology," which earned him praise from the American site "The Art Of Slap Bass." He is also a co-founder of Lambert strings, synthetic strings that imitate the gut that slap players appreciate.
