It all began with the discovery of a captivating track, “GOSTO MEIO DOCE,” revealing the enchanting voice of Nina Maia. Originally from Minas Gerais and now based in São Paulo, this 22-year-old artist has already made her mark as a singer, songwriter, instrumentalist, and producer, notably through collaborations on several Brazilian film soundtracks. Her debut album, INTEIRA (“whole”), marks a new stage in her journey. Influenced both by international icons such as Billie Eilish and Rosalía, and by Brazilian tradition (Milton Nascimento, Clube da Esquina), the album blends samba, MPB, jazz, trip-hop, and electronic pop into a singular, refined, and uncategorizable work. The result of a collective and free-spirited collaboration with those close to her, INTEIRA fully reflects Nina’s artistic universe. The album has been praised by critics, nominated for the APCA awards, and ranked among the 50 best Brazilian albums of 2024. Originally released by Seloki Records, it is now receiving an international deluxe edition release on Mr Bongo, confirming the emergence of a major talent to watch closely.
