Solo

Description

A virtuoso pianist, Nils Frahm decided to create Piano Day, to celebrate his instrument of choice every 88th day of the year. To mark the launch of this first anniversary, he treats us to a new album: “Solo,” all proceeds from which will go to David Klavins, an unconventional piano maker whose goal is to create the world’s largest piano, the Klavins M450, with its exemplary sound, which Nils Frahm demonstrates to us through his new opus composed and performed on a Klavins M370. The 8 tracks on Solo are a perfect introduction to David Klavins’s piano-making work, each instrument being a work of art, while also offering a sound of subtle nuances and astonishing precision, with Nils Frahm drawing out all its qualities through compositions untethered from time, with a dreamy and melancholic touch, a journey to a timeless elsewhere, embroidered in lace. Magical.
