NILS FRAHM is a German musician, composer, and producer born on September 20, 1982. Based in Berlin, he blends classical music and electronic music through an original approach to the use of his instruments (grand piano, upright piano, Juno 60 synthesizer, Fender Rhodes electric piano, Taurus). In addition to his solo work, he has also collaborated with artists such as Anne Müller, Ólafur Arnalds, F.S. Blumm, as well as Luke Abbott (Border Community) and Chric Clark (Warp). His album "Spaces," released in 2013 on Erased Tapes, establishes him as a reference when it comes to blending classical, contemporary, and electronic music. He is at the helm of the now-famous LATE NIGHT TALES series just after JON HOPKINS. He includes tracks from FOUR TET, BOARDS OF CANADA, BIBIO for the electronic side and MILES DAVIS, Carl Oesterhelt/Johannes Enders, and others for his jazz and classical references. It also features six exclusive tracks, including two by him. A cover of JOHN CAGE's track "4:33," and the piece "Them" taken from the soundtrack of the event film "VICTORIA" (the first film in the world shot in a single continuous take). The epilogue is presented by Cillian Murphy (Inception, Batman, 28 Days Later), who reads a story by Edna Walsh (Hunger, Disco Pigs). The CD includes a coupon with unmixed tracks available for download in MP3 or WAV format, and the vinyl includes a coupon with the mix available for free download.
