Nicolas Grigny published a single organ book (1699) called "Premier," consisting of a mass and five hymns for different church feasts (Veni creator, Pange lingua, Verbum supernum, Ave Maris Stella, A solis ortus). The limited volume of this work does not prevent Nicolas de Grigny from being generally regarded as the greatest master of the French baroque organ. Johann Sebastian Bach was a fervent admirer of Nicolas de Grigny: he discovered his music during his youth while staying in Lüneburg and hand-copied the entire book, which was to influence him, alongside Buxtehude and, later, Frescobaldi, in the development of his organ works. Olivier Houette: organist and harpsichordist, he has been the titular organist of the historic François-Henri Clicquot grand organ at the Saint-Pierre Cathedral in Poitiers since 2000 (Vienne, French classical aesthetic). He previously held the position of titular organist at the grand organs of the Saint-François-Xavier and Notre-Dame des Blancs-Manteaux churches (Paris). Upon completing his studies at the CNSM in Paris, he received prizes in organ, harpsichord, continuo, Renaissance polyphony, harmony, counterpoint, and fugue. He holds a degree in musicology from the Sorbonne. This comprehensive training allowed him to study under leading artists such as Olivier Latry, Michel Bouvard, Olivier Trachier, Thierry Escaich, and Olivier Baumont.
