Description

Forty years have passed since Gidon Kremer created a small musical oasis in the Austrian town of Lockenhaus in 1981… The open-mindedness of the violinist has marked this now essential event, and the cellist Nicolas Altstaedt, who took up his torch in 2012, continues this philosophy… For this 40th anniversary, he decided to call upon composers who have come to or been performed in Lockenhaus over the past ten years. Thus, there are two premieres, the cello concertos by Raphaël Merlin and Helena Winkelman, as well as short pieces by Erkki-Sven Tüür, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Lera Auerbach, Patkop, Maja Ratkje, Matan Porat, Kurt Schwertsik, and Johannes Fischer.
