Description
Three of the biggest stars of classical music join forces to record Beethoven's Triple Concerto. All former participants in the BBC Young Musician competition, they are great friends, but this is the first time they have recorded together. Nicky, Sheku and Benjamin performed the concerto on a UK tour in 2023, and recorded it afterwards with the Philharmonia Orchestra and its principal conductor Santtu-Matias Rouvali. Reflecting the Scottish, Welsh, Irish and English roots of the musicians, the album also includes a selection of rarely performed Beethoven folk songs, with the celebrated baritone Gerald Finley, and concludes with Kreisler's arrangement of "Londonderry Air", often known as "Danny Boy", performed by the trio.Buy Beethoven: Triple Concerto, Op. 56 at the best price
