Description

Nemir has a playful voice, a bit raspy. He grew up in the Saint-Jacques neighborhood of Perpignan, with narrow alleys and bright squares, among the Gypsies. "I am a solar being who hides obscurities, an euphoric who has his downs, cycles." The Perpignan native presents his first album, "neither in fatal drama, nor in absolute happiness. Just in life." A striking young rapper, Nemir quickly inserted himself into an ecosystem that includes Youssoupha, with whom he shares the stage on the album NGRTD, but also Hamé from La Rumeur, a proponent of very political rap, also from Perpignan, and then Nekfeu who invited him on the album Feu (notably for the co-written track Princesse) and then on Cyborg. There was a before, with EPs (Next Level #1, Next Level #2, Ailleurs, Hors-Série) that strictly followed the rules of rap, "but I imposed disorienting structures, so as not to get bored. Since then, I have reflected." With this first album, he has shaped the body of a racing car, producing "an open, non-performative, simple and direct album." And the game is good! He swears it, in Sur ma vie, performed with Alpha Wann, ex-1.9.9.5 and Don Dada Music. Nemir worked in symbiosis with the composer En'zoo [Enzo Serra] of Italian origin, a partner of the trailblazers of the new French rap: Nekfeu, Spri Noir, Alpha Wann, Gro Mo, all present here. The artist added a touch of Saint-Jacques by inviting Antoine "Tato" Garcia, a guitarist from Tekameli, a group of Gypsies from Perpignan that mixed celebration and sacred songs. Nemir places rap at the heart of a soul spirit, because he has a passion for hip hop and soul, "D'Angelo, Michael Jackson, and all those head voices brought me lightness, and the obsession with couples and love." Mixed in New York by Lionel ElSound, the album "NEMIR" was mastered by Dave Kutch (Alicia Keys, Puff Daddy...), "a childhood dream."
