For fans of The Guess Who, Lou Gramm, and Hard Rock! Originally from Rochester, New York, and currently living in Nashville, Tennessee, guitarist and singer Michael Staertow is the current guitarist for the artist The Guess Who of the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. He spent many years as the lead guitarist and musical director with original Foreigner singer and solo artist Lou Gramm, and as a guitarist with multi-platinum artist Slaughter. In addition to performing in venues around the world, Michael has played with Rudy Sarzo (Ozzy Osbourne, Dio, Whitesnake), Paul Stanley (KISS), Gene Cornish (The Rascals), Buddy Guy, Carmine and Vinny Appice (Vanilla Fudge, Black Sabbath), Nancy Wilson (Heart), and original Foreigner drummer Dennis Elliott. Michael has also been featured in Guitar World, Guitar One, and Vintage Guitar Magazine, as well as being a guest on several podcasts, including "No Guitar Is Safe" from Guitar Player Magazine, hosted by Jude Gold of GP. Now, Michael is set to reissue his independent album from 2001, Oxygen, through Deko Entertainment. In 2021, Michael accepted an offer to join The Guess Who, giving him the opportunity to musically represent this legendary artist from the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
