Description

First album by Pascal Dusapin on the Deutsche Grammophon label, the singular composer Pascal Dusapin continues his sonic journey, offering through ever-varied forms a fiercely emotive music. Distinguished by numerous honors and awards including the Cino del Duca Prize in 2005, the Dan David Prize in 2007 and the title of academician at the Bayerische Akademie in Munich the same year, he also holds the chair of Artistic Creation at the Collège de France (the second composer after Pierre Boulez to gain access to this institution). After composing the cycle of 7 solos for orchestra (Go, Extenso, Apex, Clam, Exeo, Reverso, Uncut), composed between 1991 and 2009, Morning in Long Island inaugurates a new cycle on nature that should include three “concertos” for orchestra.
