Domino is extremely proud to announce the signing of My Bloody Valentine, with its foundational catalog being made available in full digitally for the first time in March 2021. New physical editions of each album will follow on May 21, 2021.
Isn't Anything and Loveless have been fully mastered from analog sources for the deluxe LP and also from new uncompressed high-definition digital sources for the standard LP, each being available on a large scale for the very first time. Fully analog versions of m b v will also be available globally on deluxe and standard LPs for the first time.
My Bloody Valentine - the quartet formed by Bilinda Butcher, Kevin Shields, Deb Googe, and Colm Ó Cíosóig - is one of the most innovative and influential bands of the past forty years. At a time when English guitar bands exhibited, at best, a certain retro-classicism, My Bloody Valentine was unlike any of its contemporaries and sounded like the future.
Finally reappearing in 2013 after two whole decades of relative obscurity, ‘m b v’, the band's third album, is its most experimental yet also the most melodic and immediate, a tangible proof of its unwavering desire for reinvention. Continuing to push the boundaries of music and genre, ‘m b v’ is a sensational album, with some sounds that could claim to belong to a type never realized before. More intimate and visceral, ‘m b v’ is a surprising and magnificent metamorphosis of what was known of the sound of My Bloody Valentine, pushing boundaries like no other band. The closing track of the album, “Wonder 2,” is an example, seeing Shields merge a hypnotic guitar with drum’n’bass for a prodigious result.
