Domino is extremely proud to announce the signing of My Bloody Valentine, with its founding catalog being made available in full digitally for the first time in March 2021. New physical editions of each album will follow on May 21, 2021.
Isn't Anything and Loveless have been fully mastered from analog sources for the deluxe LP and also from new uncompressed high-definition digital sources for the standard LP, each being available on a large scale for the very first time. Fully analog versions of m b v will also be available globally on deluxe and standard LPs for the first time.
My Bloody Valentine - the quartet formed by Bilinda Butcher, Kevin Shields, Deb Googe, and Colm Ó Cíosóig - is one of the most innovative and influential bands of the past forty years. At a time when English guitar bands exhibited, at best, a certain retro-classicism, My Bloody Valentine was unlike any of its contemporaries and sounded like the future.
The second album by My Bloody Valentine, ‘Loveless’, was released in 1991. Musically, it is an unexpected leap forward, ahead of everything that was being released at the time. Shields and the band went further into a music of pure sensation, creating textures and tones that can be felt as much as heard; with ‘Loveless’, the band created an album that overwhelms the senses. ‘Loveless’ is widely regarded as a perfect album and rightly considered a masterpiece; an equivalent of the 1990s to Pet Sounds, In A Silent Way, or Innervisions. A record built by exploring the limits of what a recording studio is capable of. It is a record to be appreciated in its entirety, in one go - a listening experience unlike any other and unmatched in its sonic density.
