Originating from Wrexham, Wales, the band MWWB (formerly Mammoth Weed Wizard Bastard) has made a name for itself with a unique approach where doom metal, shoegaze, space rock, and electronic music converge around the ethereal voice of Jessica Ball. The Harvest, the first album released under this shortened name, marks a new stage in their evolution by incorporating more analog keyboards, mellotron, and progressive structures, while still retaining the massive riffs that have built their reputation. Recorded with producer Chris Fielding, the album's release was delayed by a year following the serious stroke suffered by guitarist Paul Michael Davies due to a Covid-19 infection. Designed as a continuous work where the nine tracks flow naturally into one another, The Harvest develops a true sonic narrative, balancing power, cinematic atmospheres, and long builds of tension.
