From Manchester, Murkage is one of those detonations you need to hear... Familiar English names among the many who have captivated the French with hard-hitting electronic beats and machine-gun flows. Styles are born in English cities... and obviously, invented in 2006 in basements and home studios and growing out of control to crush pop music. Faced with sound standardization, with the commercial homogenization of cultural tastes, Amplified by the protests and city riots of 2011, spreading from screens to screens then by word of mouth, a sonic revolt rumbles in the clubs: MCs sharpen their pens, beatmakers polish their BPMs. A collective and multidisciplinary Molotov cocktail that has been brewing for 6 years. At the beginning: the Murkages Clubs, weekly electronic & authentic, vibrant parties. The clubs become vectors. The 5 musicians (MCs, beatmaker, drummer) of the collective hone their skills on stage, invite emerging artists, transport their energy to Manchester, Liverpool, London, then Berlin and Paris, Marseille, Toulouse, Nantes, Orléans, Dours, Dijon, Belfort... From these wanderings and this desire to move forward as a group, Murkage made an album "Of Mystics and Misfits": 9 tracks (including 2 with Orelsan & Nekfeu, to name a few...) that resonate hugely, crafted for turntables and headphones, presented in French cities and festivals throughout 2014.
