The Munich Philharmonic is certainly the orchestra that has performed the most of Anton Bruckner's music. A large number of these recordings are stored in the archives of this ensemble by the label MPHIL. Since September 2017 at the Monastery of St. Florian, Valery Gergiev has been presenting this spectacular work around Bruckner's symphonies. This cycle continued with recordings in September 2018 and will conclude this year around the same date. Thus, all the symphonies will be available under this label and conducted by Valery Gergiev. This first cycle offered here focuses on symphonies 2, 8, and 9 in a digipack format with a 20-page illustrated booklet. The MPHIL label now has 125 years of history during which the greatest conductors have made their mark. The richness of this catalog can also be appreciated in the prestigious box set released this autumn and still available (Ref Bertus: W82525) celebrating the 125th anniversary of the orchestra's founding. Valery Gergiev, an eminent and very active conductor, has been the People's Artist of the Russian Federation since 1996, and remains a key figure in conducting such repertoire to this day.
