Hexadic III

Description

American indie and psych rock guitarist Ben Chasny of Six Organs of Admittance and Comets on Fire described in his book The Hexadic System a new combinatorial theory of musical composition with incredible potential, and demonstrated the possibilities of the system in 2015 through two albums, Hexadic and HexadicII. For this third record, other artists experimented with the composition system: the San Francisco psych rock band Moon Duo, Jenks Miller (Horseback, Mount Moriah), the duo formed by folk artist Meg Baird and Charlie Saufley (Heron Oblivion), Bhutanese musician Tashi Dorji, Englishman Richard Youngs, the trio made up of guitarist Stephen O'Malley of Sunn O, drummer Tim Wyskida (Khanate, Blind Idiot God) and Marc Urselli, and finally Phil Legard. Each has made the system their own to develop their own universe and deliver tracks of great beauty!
