Daptone Gold Ii

Description

Six years after the release of a first compilation featuring hits and rarities from the label, Daptone Records is back with Daptone Gold II. While the first volume shone a spotlight on the uniqueness of the Daptone sound, this second installment showcases how they have continued to produce in recent years. It includes tracks already available on albums or only on 45s, as well as a few exclusives. The compilation also follows the logical progression of the Super Soul Revue, a series of concerts bringing together nearly all Daptone artists on the same stage, which will result in three exceptional nights at the famous Apollo Theater. This double album is sure to delight the label's longtime fans, who have made the Brooklyn label one of the main sources of the soul revival and a model of independence for record labels.
