Afro-Beat Arways

Description

Keyboard-soaked afro-beat, cosmic and muscular afro-funk, psychedelic boogie are just a few examples of the tracks featured on this highly danceable compilation. Everything was done to make these 15 tracks gathered by Samy Ben Redjeb, founder of the remarkable label Analog Africa, a complete and incredible document. To do so, Samy traveled all over Ghana and Togo to contact the producers, the artists, or their families. He took the opportunity to conduct a dozen interviews, scan a hundred photos, and duplicate 120 master tapes. The result is a fantastic 44-page color booklet accompanying these 75 minutes full of different moods, a superb benchmark of an afro funk scene rich in diversity. The vinyl version is a double LP gatefold with a poster included.
