Tank Girl - Original Soundtrack

It's a tough choice for the greatest cult classic, the film Tank Girl or its accompanying soundtrack, but overall, we should go for the soundtrack. Yes, the film had a cast featuring some of the most colorful characters (Iggy Pop, Ann Magnuson) and character actors (Malcolm McDowell, Ice-T, and of course the all-powerful Lori Petty!) in showbiz. Moreover, its dystopian desert setting, resource-hungry environment, intense action sequences, and its female lead make it a feminist precursor (albeit a funnier one) to Mad Max: Fury Road. But take a look at the good faith of the soundtrack: assembled by Courtney Love herself, it features a Who's Who of 90s female rock, including Hole, Björk, L7, Veruca Salt, and Belly, among others. Additionally, it even contains exclusive tracks upon its release, such as a unique version of "Girl U Want" by Devo, "Mockingbird Girl" by The Magnificent Bastards (a side project of the late Scott Weiland from Stone Temple Pilots), and a duet of "Let's Do It, Let's Fall in Love" between Joan Jett and Paul Westerberg from The Replacements. In short, if there's one soundtrack that deserves to be on wax, it's this one.
